Pooja is currently an AP Biology and Living Environment Teacher at Williamsburg Preparatory School in Brooklyn, NY. Prior to teaching in Brooklyn, Pooja taught 8th grade science in the northeast Bronx. Pooja entered the teaching profession as a NYC Teaching Fellow and earned her M.A. in Teaching with Distinction at Relay Graduate School of Education in 2015. Prior to teaching in NYC, she lived in Mumbai, India, where she worked on gender-based violence prevention and taught English in an after school program. Pooja also worked as a field organizer for Organizing for America on the 2012 presidential campaign and at UN Women as a John Gardner Fellow. Through the program, Pooja aspires to learn to think more effectively and reflectively about her classroom such that her work directly benefits her students' personal and academic growth.
