Phung Vuong has been a NYC public school teacher for four years. She has an undergraduate background in neuroscience and loves learning about the brain. Phung currently teaches Living Environment and Anatomy and Physiology at Franklin D. Roosevelt high school in Brooklyn. She feels blessed to teach in the same high school that she has graduated from. She sees her younger self in a lot of her students and hopes to be a positive influence on them. Phung’s goal for the 2016-2017 academic year is to increase student motivation and engagement by making science fun and relatable. Through collaboration with other Sci-Ed fellows, she hopes to be more reflective and innovative in her teaching practice.
