Mirela has been serving in the New York City public high schools since 2012. Earning her M.A. in Adolescence Science Education from Brooklyn College has offered her many opportunities to connect with colleagues and professionals, with whom she collaborates continuously for the benefit of low-income and diverse ethnic minority students. With a B.S in Legal studies and being an ELL herself, she it well equipped has to better comprehend issues that undocumented immigrant youth face when arrive in the U.S.A. Mirela hopes that her love and passion for science inspires and motivates her students to see science as a crucial part of their life and why not to pursue science oriented pathways in their future.
