Megan grew up on Long Island and has always loved science. She earned her B.S. in Biology from Providence College in Rhode Island. After working at a nonprofit teaching English to low-wage workers and immigrants, she realized that she wanted to bring her passion for science to more young people. She decided to become a teacher and went on to earn her M.A. in Secondary Science Education at NYU Steinhardt though the CRISP Program. She has been teaching Living Environment and Earth Science ever since at AMS II, a charter high school in the South Bronx. She also worked with New Visions to help develop an inquiry based curriculum for Earth Science and she hopes it will provide accessible resources to teachers and students in New York City. She looks forward to collaborating with other STEM teachers through her participation in the Sci-Ed Innovators Fellowship program and bringing ideas back into her classroom to inspire her students to love science.
