Director of First Year Fellowship
School: Essex Street Academy
Grades Taught: 11-12
Subjects Taught: Chemistry
Liz came to teaching as a way to share her passion for chemistry. Chemistry was the first subject where she really found joy in learning, combining abstract thinking and mathematics to describe natural phenomena. Over her eight years teaching in New York City public schools, Liz has fully embraced the madness, challenges, and deep rewards of working with an under-served student population.
Liz wanted to become a Sci-Ed Fellow to find a community where educators can be mutually inspired by their enthusiasm for sharing Science. Traditionally isolated STEM teachers deserve quality opportunities to continue to grow as professionals.
