Kristen decided to become a teacher after earning her Bachelor of Arts in Education from Salem State University in 1999. She began her teaching career at the Francis M. Leahy Elementary School in Lawrence, MA. She loves the school and children so much, she has spent her career at the same school! While working at the Leahy, she earned her M.Ed in Reading from Endicott College in 2003. She has taught first, second, and third grade as a classroom teacher. She also has experience as a Title 1 reading teacher, a member of the PBIS team, and a grade level lead teacher. She is excited to begin her nineteenth year teaching. She is a third grade science teacher and this is her first year as a member of the Sci-Ed fellowship.
