Harika currently teaches Science Research as the Science Research Coordinator at High School for Health Professions and Human Services. She has a B.S. in Chemical Engineering from University of Rochester. After working as a chemical engineer and product manager, she decided to change careers and received her teaching certificate in General Science-Chemistry from CUNY Queens College. She also completed her M.S. in Science Education there with The Outstanding Student Achievement Award and Graduate Honors in Secondary Education. She has taught Regents Chemistry as well as Forensic Science and Science Research as SUPA college credit courses of Syracuse University. She attended the NSTA national conference as a member of NASA IDEA team and took part in the CUNY GK-12 program.
