Eric is a career changer who worked in the financial services industry before becoming a teacher. While working in that field he volunteered as a tutor in an elementry school in Hempstead, N.Y. He started with the NYCDOE as subsitute teacher in 1999 before becoming a full time teacher in the fall of 2000. This is his 16th year teaching Robotics and Technology at I. S.192Q in St. Albans, N.Y., and his 14th as a First LEGO League (FLL) Robotics Team coach. Eric contributes to his school community as a yearbook advisor, grade leader, professional development leader, and school STEM program lead teacher. He has also presented at STEM conferences both locally and nationally. This is Eric's second year as a Sci-Ed Innovators Fellow. His mission is to bring equity, access, and excellence to STEM education for all of his students.
