A fell in love with teaching after being a teacher's assistant for her organic chemistry professor at Hunter College in 2011 as a pre-med student. A later got accepted to the Urban Teacher Residency program for New Visions for Public Schools in New York City in 2012. In her program she completed her residency as a teacher in Brooklyn, New York and earned her M.A. in Adolescent Biology Education at Hunter College in 2013. Since then, A has been teaching in New York City public high schools. In addition to her role as a teacher in the classroom, she has served as a co-leader in departmental professional development. A is very enthusiastic to be starting her seventh year teaching in the STEM classroom and her first year as a Sci-Ed fellow.
